Is your dog’s pulling, lunging and barking on walks wearing you down?

Have you tried everything, but your walks remain chaotic and you are at a loss of what to do?

If your goal is to be able to walk your dog but you don’t want to get into the nitty gritty of dog training, this package is for you!

Sensitive dogs need support on multiple levels and with our holistic approach, you will be involved. But …… I do the early stages of the walking training for you.

I transition your dog from chaotic to calm and then I support you to walk your sensitive dog.

Be confident that your dog will be working with a professional, with years of experience, knowledge and a priority for the welfare of your dog and flip your unruly walks to calm and enjoyable adventures.

Changing chaotic walks into calm walks

How it works

We meet in your home for an initial in-depth consultation and assessment.
💛 You will learn why your dog is pulling and not listening to you.

💛 You will receive a practical guide to measurements you can take at home to provide a holistic approach.

Your dog will receive three regular training sessions a week.
💛 Initial sessions will be at your home with no distractions and where your dog can be fully focused. They will progress gradually out and about.

💛 Once your dog is calmer and gaining confidence, you will begin walking with us and transitioning to walking your dog.

Together we will help your dog, but I do the early stages of the training!

For this training to be effective it requires a commitment of three training sessions a week over three months.

What you get

The confidence that your dog is in experienced hands providing positive reinforcement training.

Quality time for your dog, with a focus on their wellbeing.

Photo and video updates of training sessions.

E-book with guidelines and resources.

Three months program including 18 hours of training for your dog and a minimum of 3.5 hours of support for you.

Amazing things that will happen when you work with me

I use a communicative form of training, from Leslie McDevitts Control Unleashed method.

It establishes a system of communication and will give your dog agency, choice and control. Control is a primary reinforcer and the games are often used for dog’s that are not confident, and display this with barking, lunging and pulling behaviours.

Your dog will learn to self-regulate and some pattern games. The repetition and predictability provide a secure support for your dog.

They can be used in environments that your dog is trying to process, and amazingly the games will allow your dog to begin to normalize the new environment. The environment includes anything or anywhere that your dog is uncomfortable. This could be the street, a park, another dog, a cat, a person, a vacuum cleaner. YOUR DOG WILL TELL YOU.

Your dog won’t need to be chaotic on your walks. They can tap into their new ability to be calm, trust in the magic of the games and you can get on with enjoying your walks together.

A total life changer!

“The Walk and Train service has been life-changing for us and our dog, Max! His pulling, barking, and lunging made walks so stressful, but the trainer worked wonders. Shona handled the early stages of training, kept us updated with photos and videos, and supported us when it was our turn to take the lead.

Now Max is calm, confident, and a joy to walk. We can finally enjoy our time together without the stress. Highly recommend this service to anyone struggling with their dog on walks!”

What happens in a discovery call?
This is your first step to working with me. Firstly, I need to check that I can help you and your dog and if we are a good fit. We need to find out if we like each other and you also need to know about my training methods and which training program would work best for you.

More specifically, in this call, I’ll ask lots of questions. I want to find out about you, what is happening for you, what you have tried and what your goals are when working with me. We will discuss your dog’s details, life and learning history, and why you have specifically reached out. This call will not provide any training advice.

If we decide to work together, we’ll book in our first training session and organise payment. I’ll then send you a welcome email, receipt, agreement and I will send you details about our first session.

Why are there no prices on your website?
Based on our discussion in the discovery call I’ll be able to recommend what program will work best for you. You may need the full kit and kaboodle, but there are other options available for shorter programs, but you will need my help to make this decision.
Why do you have to find out if I am a good fit for your training?
I don’t want to waste your time or money! If you don’t want to use food in your training, we’re not a good fit. If you are resistant to new training methods, then we’re not a good fit. If you have different values then you won’t enjoy the platforms, nor will you learn and after-all, I want a win-win for both of us (and your dog!). If you want me to be just the dog walker, then this is not the program for you.
Why is the program 3 months?

There’s a number of reasons.

That’s how long it takes. If you want to change how you are feeling and how your dog is feeling, it doesn’t happen overnight. For a long-term real solution, this is not a quick fix.

Change takes time. This may be completely new ground for you and there are two of you that are learning, understanding new concepts, building trust and gaining confidence.

When you’ve had a history of bad experiences with your dog, transitioning to real world situations can be scary. I’ll be with you in person.

For the program to be successful, we train in different environments and your dog needs time to progress to a variety of distractions.

Completely different dog compared to when you first met him!

“Just thought I would let you know we took Louie for a walk yesterday.

He loose-lead walks, stops at roads, waits until he is told he can go and can now see other walking dogs without getting carried away.

He’s a completely different dog compared to when you first met him, thank you so much Shona!”
